Member Grade

Join the AusIMM

The main professional grade of the AusIMM is Member grade. Members are professionals with a tertiary qualification or equivalent who have a minimum of five years’ professional experience. Where an applicant does not hold a tertiary degree, ten years of professional experience accompanied by relevant training and/or education is considered to be equivalent.

Application Requirements

Qualification and experience

A copy of your CV and confirmation of your degrees, diplomas, etc. should be included with this application form. The only exception is in the case of reinstatement or grade transfer where required information has previously been approved. (If your degree is in a language other than English please submit a copy in English).

The following forms of confirmation are acceptable:

  • A certified copy of your tertiary degree, diploma, academic transcript or letter from the tertiary institution. Copies can be certified as a true copy by an AusIMM Member or Fellow or an authorised person (i.e. Justice of the Peace, Police Officer, etc)

Proof of identity

A copy of a passport photo page, current driver's licence or birth certificate are acceptable forms of proof of identity.

Payment of Application fee

A $55 ($50 for Non Australian residence) is required to submit your application; this is a standard Application fee that is required on all new applications and reinstatements. Go to the subscription fees page to calculate your fees.

Application Cancellations

All applications received for admission or reinstatement that are terminated or expired prior to election to membership will incur a A$55.00 (includes GST) administration fee prior to refund.
